Gratitude, Creation, and the Flow of Abundance

Gratitude is, I feel, one of the highest methods of connection with God, of partnering with God. When we receive abundance, we tend to turn to God and thank him for the abundance that we've received. Because we see Him as the source of our abundance. So there's partnering with Him in gratitude in the area of abundance. That is a great reason to connect…to express gratitude.

Another way that we connect with God is when we create. When we create, we take earthly matter, which we have received in abundance, and create something with it. We create life with the matter. That is partnering with God and an expression of heartfelt gratitude.  When we co-create with God, we also need to express gratitude for ourselves for the part that we played, the light that we bring to the equation, and the effort and obedience that we bring to the table. Then the final piece of this triad of gratitude is others. We're grateful to God for the abundance we received. We're grateful to ourselves for partnering with God to create something amazing. Then we share our abundance with others, and they thank God and us for receiving it.  I did a masterclass called The Gratitude Triad that goes into more depth about expressing gratitude in these three ways.  https://mentoring.wylenebenson.com/Gratitude-Triad-offer

Today, I have some guests showing up. My husband’s sister and her husband live out of state. They’re here building a house. This morning was the first time we've been able to get together. We're going to have breakfast together. Last night I got the call that I was going to be receiving guests. As I prepared to receive them, I made some muffins this morning; I got tea and hot chocolate ready. Then I'm going to fix breakfast. While preparing to welcome our guests, I heard my husband cleaning the table and wiping it down. I think he was straightening up the bathroom too. I heard him bustling around, doing some final touches before our guests arrived. My urge was to say, “\Oh, don't worry about that. I'll do it. Don't bother yourself about that.” But I zipped my lip. Because I have an abundance of things to do this morning, I'm going to let him have some of my abundance of things to do. I'm going to share my abundance with someone else.

I got a new perspective on abundance this morning. Sometimes our abundance is not an overabundance of something we desire to share…good stuff like fruit, plenty of  time and energy, and money. Sometimes the overabundance is of things to do, an overabundance of obligations. It’s totally appropriate to share those things with gratitude. All of the overabundance we have should be shared. I have an abundance this morning. I get the opportunity to share this insight with you. I also have an amazing opportunity to have my sister-in-law and her family over for breakfast this morning. We don't get to do it often since they live out of state. We haven't seen one of their daughters, our niece, for six years. So this was an opportunity that we wanted to take, even though It created an overabundance at 9:00 AM this morning.

We were able to do it. And only because I was willing to share the abundance of opportunities with someone else. I shared the lot with Clint, the number of things to do. Before I put him in charge, I said, “Okay, the only thing that needs to happen is the water needs to be heated up. As soon as everybody gets here, somebody heats the water then we are good to go. So I delegated the heating of the water. So I think the message today is that whatever your abundance is, be willing to share it.

We've received abundance from God this morning; This is a blessing that our family came.  I am grateful to God. And I'm thankful for myself for being able to create a breakfast for them and still be able to fulfill a commitment to get this content made for you  this morning. I'm super grateful for how I'm partnering with other people. And I’m thankful to you for the opportunity to share this new awareness that I've had today about abundance and what can be accomplished when we share our lot with others. No matter what the abundance is, even if it's an abundance of stuff to do. We can still communicate with gratitude; we can receive with gratitude; we can create with appreciation; we can share with gratitude.

We're going to do a quick exercise. Take a deep breath…let’s do that again… breathe down to my diaphragm. Take a deep breath; lower your shoulders, chest, and belly. Take another deep breath, relax your stomach, and let that air fill up the whole core of your body. Feel how relaxing that is; way more relaxing than breathing with your shoulders. Now that we are relaxed recognize your abundance. See all things as abundance, whether this is an abundance of things to do or if it's an abundance of food, if it's an abundance of friends, it's an abundance of wealth, whatever it is an abundance of. Feel in that space of mine, overflowing abundance, expressing gratitude to God for these blessings, these opportunities, these unique experiences that we have here. Then express gratitude for yourself, for co-creating with God, for partnering with God, to create life with this overabundance of blessings He's given us.

And then also see how we can share our abundance. Share it, whether that is delegating or if it is giving something away. Maybe it is offering your time or donating to a worthy cause. Feel an expression of gratitude going out, an expression of gratitude going up, and an expression of gratitude within.

Now notice how that sharing of gratitude produces a desire to bring other people back to God. It sends people to God in gratitude for the sharing that you did, for their receiving, their ability to support you, and their ability to receive your abundance.

That completes the Gratitude Triad. Abundance and sharing your abundance completes the Gratitude Triad.   Feel the peace, the flow of all these different ways that we express gratitude…to all people, ourselves, and God…creating wholeness with gratitude.
