The Simplicity of Living in the Quantum

For those new to my page, I talk about my daily GPS to partner with God through the holidays and this morning in my daily GPS, and for those who aren't sure what a daily GPS is, GPS stands for Gratitude prayer and scripture. So it's all about doing your daily GPS every morning, too, to partner with God and live your life and run your business, your professional life, your personal life, whatever, everything you do as you partner with God according to his will.

I was sitting down on my daily GPS this morning when I got to the part where I asked for my inspired shortcut and an inspired shortcut; I used to look at an inspired shortcut to accomplish my goals. And because I was asking what is the one most important thing that I can do today to accomplish whatever, you know, the goal is? And so I used to look at it as that inspired thought that came to me when I asked that question would take me to my destination faster. But over the years, I have learned that the inspired shortcut takes you somewhere different. That it's not taking you to your goal faster. The byproduct is you do, yet you're done more quickly. But then inspired shortcut, it's a shortcut to quantum. It's a shortcut to a place where you skip over all the minutia and get right to the one thing that is most important to have everything working together for your good.

We know in the scriptures that all things work together for good for those; let's see, I am trying to remember exactly how it is. All things work together for good, for those who love the Lord or something like that. And basically, what that means to me is if you will go to him every day and ask for that one thing, one most important thing that will help you partner with him, then all things will work together to help that be accomplished. I want to give you a little example that happened this fall, and I could give you hundreds of models, but this was the one I came to share with you. We had just a little space. It was just like a hundred-foot space in the back of our yard that did not have a fence that wasn't fenced.

My daughter has a dog, and when he comes over when my daughter comes over, and the dog's there; we can't let him out and just run in the backyard because we had this one space in the back that was not fenced. And one of my neighbors had a fence that I liked, and he built it. So one day in my daily gps, my inspired shortcut was to ask him how he created that fence and what materials he used and everything so that I could make a fence very similar to, you know, so that we could have his look very identical because we just liked the wall. So my neighbor came over that day, he has bees, and he came over and brought me a little half pint of honey. Just as he was leaving, I was like, oh wait, by the way, can you tell me what materials you use? I want to have a wall like yours. He said yes, of course, and even went as far as I won't just make you a list; I will build it for you. And this neighbor, throughout the next couple of months, went and picked up all the materials. So I didn't even have to pick up the materials and just painted him back for the material cost. And then he came over just on his days off and worked on that fence. And just a few days that, I had a wall in the backyard with a little gate, and the only thing I had to do was pay him back for the materials.

It was like 500 bucks or something like that. So it was super cheap, I, it was just like this fantastic experience. And the cool part about it was not even the fact that I got the fence done, but my other neighbor and this neighbor who helped us all came together. My other neighbor had had his boys come over and help dig out some old post posts in our yard. So everybody came together. It was like a community effort, and um, it was so beautiful to see that one inspired shortcut God gave me; it created so much joy. It got the fence accomplished. So the goal got achieved, of course, but the more, the better, and the more significant thing that was accomplished was a community effort that brought all of our neighbors closer. And that's not something I could have created alone. If I had on my to-do list and was checking off, go by the materials for the fence, dig the post holes, you know if I had all the list of things.

That needed that fence done; first of all, it would've taken me forever. And then it would have brought something other than the neighbor first gather as this project did. So God knows what that one thing needs to be accomplished or not even needs to be completed, but a critical thing for the day will create this quantum experience where you bypass all the minutiae of the little checkoff things. It also makes this a robust understanding of love and community. And so for today, that's what we're going to do. But, um, in my daily said, my inspired shortcut today was to simplify and intensify. And so it wasn't like a specific checklist to do, you know, to do a thing, but it was a way of simplifying and intensifying.

And so, for today, we will simplify and intensify this Facebook Live. So we're just going to go ahead and close your eyes, take a deep breath, and I know you have like your list of to-dos already in your mind of things that need to be accomplished. Or maybe you've got an old to-do list where things have been nagging at you, these monkeys on your back that just if I don't get this done, it's driving me nuts or whatever. So be aware that there are all these things to do. And then, for the moment, just set these things aside because that to-do list is an earthly thing that will produce a result, maybe accomplish a goal, but doing those checkoff things won't necessarily get you into a space where you can have a quantum experience where not only is the goal accomplished, but something more significant is accomplished at the same time because God is in it. And so just set that list aside and be open to knowing. And as I ask this question, be aware that that will come to you and trust it. Please don't push it aside because it needs to be more complex. Please don't push it because it's too hard. Just allow the thought to come to you. So when I ask this question, what is the most important thing today?

What is the one most important thing today? And whatever it is, write that down. Be aware of what that one most important thing is today. And even if it doesn't make sense, sounds scary, or if it's like, how can that be it? That's too simple. Whatever it is. That one day, I asked my neighbor how to build a fence. That was it. And this quantum experience was the result of it. So we are simplifying down to that one essential thing today; you notice I didn't say the one most crucial thing today because it's only sometimes something to do. One most important thing today, you're simplifying, and simultaneously, you are intensifying; you are quantum, leaping past all the little minutia, all the little day-to-day things, the little checkoff things that we put our heads down.

And we never make it to quantum because we worry about the to-dos. And especially as you had as we head into the holidays, there will be many to-dos on your list of accomplishments and stuff like that. So take the time daily and ask what is the essential thing today. And do that one thing as the first thing on your list. And then, if anything else gets accomplished, that's great, but if it doesn't, that's okay too because the most important thing has been completed. And that will take you to a place where all things will work together for good.
